“Best Russian teacher I have ever had!”

I have been taking lessons from Victoria since last year. I’ve never had any type of online class like this before. You are in a virtual classroom filled with lesson plans that she has prepared and, in addition, the classroom is very user-friendly. In the past, I used to go to a language school (learning to speak Russian) for several months before starting with Victoria but I was never exposed to much of the culture, music, etc. This particular language school company only taught me how to converse in Russian with a little bit of the culture involved (not really explaining why certain phrases are said in certain situations, which became frustrating because I was just told to memorize it without a full explanation on the “why”). However, in my opinion, learning about the culture goes hand in hand with learning the language because there are many nuances in each language that can’t be translated straight to English or to another “tongue” — understanding the people, the culture, etc. help achieve this. That is why I love having Victoria as my teacher because she teaches me how to speak Russian correctly with the bonus of teaching about the Russian way of life. You basically get the “whole package”.
So, Victoria, thank you very much! I am very happy that you are my teacher. Thanks to you, I have learned so much about the Russian language and culture (and I hope to learn even more). I really want to travel to Russia and I promise you that I will travel around the country in the future. I look forward to our lessons every week!

My 8 year old daughter is learning Russian with Victoria. I love that Victoria individualizes teaching strategy taking into account the interests of my daughter. The classes are very productive because my child gets to talk a lot of spontaneous Russian and learns language concepts.

Victoria is a very engaging and knowledgeable tutor. She has an amazing on-line classroom system that works very well and has a great task-reward ratio. Since my son is only 7, Victoria doesn’t keep him working on each task for too long to keep him engaged. I’ve never seen my son being so focused and happy while learning so many new things! Victoria has a way with children that not very many teachers have. It’s so special! I am so happy we found Victoria! She is the best!

Victoria Carter has been teaching Russian to my 6 year old daughter for 3 months.
My daughter is a native speaker of both Russian and English and recently we relocated to the USA but wanted to actively continue developing her Russian language skills, in particular reading, writing and grammar.
Victoria is kind and encouraging and after the first lesson our daughter was excited to continue Russian lessons with Victoria.
Her lessons include highly interactive activities such as riddles, cursive writing practice and cartoons that are used as an instrument to analyze and summarize situations in discussion form.
I highly recommend Victoria to anyone who wants their child to be excited about learning Russian.

I’m really grateful to have such a tutor for my son. I can say he’s very selective with people, and Victoria was able to find a way to become friends with him. Both her way of teaching and the virtual classroom were perfect for my son. His reading skills obviously improved after the first few classes. I can see he’s glad to have two classes a week now instead of one. Victoria is very well-prepared for the class, and regularly provides productive post-session work. At the same time she is a very delicate, knowledgeable, and patient person.
I can definitely recommend Victoria for those parents who wants their children to learn Russian with interest and fun.

Victoria is a wonderful tutor who comes up with a lot of fun ways to teach Russian. My 17 year old daughter is quite interested in Russian culture and decided she would like to learn the language, as well. She has worked with Victoria for a year on Skype and it’s worked so well. It’s very convenient and they still have the face to face dialogue that is so essential to learning. Our daughter always looks forward to working with Victoria.

I’ve been learning Russian with Victoria for a while now and she is a really great tutor. She is very patient and understanding, and always does a good job at thoroughly explaining the material. The virtual classroom she uses is not the traditional way of learning a language, but it is a lot better in my opinion. It allows a lot more freedom to do various types of activities and provides a more fun learning environment. Exercises are much easier with this method and Victoria always comes up with different ways to keep it interesting and exciting. With Victoria, learning is much more pleasant because she uses a variety of different games and tasks to make the learning process much less boring and tedious than the more traditional methods of learning a foreign language. It is great having a teacher who is not only passionate about the language, but passionate about teaching as well. She makes learning Russian very enjoyable and as accessible as possible. Though the language is a little difficult to learn, her positive personality and great composure make me feel very relaxed and encouraged to want to keep learning more. I would definitely recommend her to anyone because I have learned so much since beginning my journey of learning another language with her!

I have been working with Victoria twice per week for about one month. Not only does she work around my crazy schedule, but her teaching style and strategy is impeccable! I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a DEDICATED and CARING instructor when learning something such as another language because it requires an endless amount of repetition and patience. Victoria has both those qualities.
I am preparing for a trip to Russia in the late summer and she has PERSONALIZED ALL of my lessons so that I am able to learn the necessities within the short time period that I have. Not only does she focus on vocabulary, but she also incorporates conjugations so that I am able to use and understand conversations. She has also already taught me to read in Russian!
Victoria uses several online tools to make sure that you understand and are able to further practice what you have learned throughout her lessons. She also uses an interactive tool during her lessons so that both parties can participate in the lesson, and you are visually and audibly reinforced with examples and activities.
Her pricing is also incredibly fair!!! She is trustworthy and will never waste your time or money, both of which can be sources of stress and uncertainty when conducted in an online environment.
I would absolutely recommend Victoria to EVERYONE that is seriously interested in learning the Russian language. Learning a second language can be really intimidating and frustrating, but Victoria makes the journey fun and interesting. Sometimes I don’t even realize how much I am learning until I am in actual conversation. I even had my first dream in Russian!! (Nothing too complicated, but I am still incredibly thrilled)!

We started with Victoria with a trial lesson to which my 9 year old daughter responded positively, so we set a weekly schedule and it has been a positive and rewarding learning experience for our daughter since then! She enjoys learning and is fully engaged during the class even though it is virtual because the age appropriate teaching approach Victoria takes keeps her motivated and fun. She really enjoys the cartoons that Victoria uses during the class.
Victoria never rushes and is very reliable and takes extra time, if needed, to finish up or clarify a topic better. One one interaction offers my daughter more freedom to ask questions without feeling conscious.
We hope to continue the class with mutual need and flexibility.

Victoria is patient and thorough in her explanations and provides a lot of support and study materials outside of class. She has been good to work with, and has a good system for tutoring anywhere through Skype and a shared online “classroom” workspace, which let me continue getting help from her even after arriving in Russia.
